Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Animal shelter. Tasks: Prepare food and feed animals. Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures. Keep records of animals treated. Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals. Supervise helpers. Maintain and order supplies. Dog training expertise: Canine behaviour problems/modification. Animal specialization: Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Flexibility.
