*POSITION:* Kitting Manager- ONSITE *SHIFT:* Day Shift - Monday to Fridays 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. *LOCATION:* Brampton, Ontario *REPORTS TO:* Director of Manufacturing *Position Summary:* Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this position will be responsible for meeting production requirements pertaining to preparing and delivery of the weekly/seasonal kits of our customers. This position is responsible for supporting and developing kitting and assembly personnel and evaluating equipment. The Kitting Manager will act as a liaison between our production teams to ensure an efficient flow into and through the kitting department and identifying priorities throughout the day. This position will help track and orchestrate the material movement from the production floor, into the kitting department. *What YOU will be doing:* · Ensure the ongoing coordination and the day-to-day operation of the kitting department; · Organize, control and manage department to effectively deliver the product within timelines; · Provide direction, support, training and motivation and assist with career development for the kitting/assembly Team; · Help design, test and implement policies and procedures regarding material, document flow, quality and best-practices for kitting and assembly, as required; · Provide support to the kitting team lead in the preparation, planning and coordination of weekly kitting lines; · Ensure work areas are ?tour ready? at all times; · Responsible for the accuracy, security and control of inventory and secured areas; · Responsible for reducing operating costs while improving service, accuracy and quality; · Ensure all shifts are covered in a manner to support scheduling needs, internal and external; · Help sustain and coordinate and the circulation of key performance indicators for kitting and assembly, with the use of our KPI boards and team meetings; · Recognize where timelines may be in jeopardy and escalate as appropriate to ensure that client requirements are met; · Provide the Transcontinental Team with upcoming project forecasts, current project timelines and priorities; · Process rush order requests as required; work with Director of Manufacturing to assess overtime requirements and ensure that the plant receives adequate notice for all weekend work; * Perform all other duties, as assigned or requested by Management to support the Team. *Other Responsibilities:* · Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario, the Workplace Safety Insurance Act and all other applicable legislated environmental, health & safety regulations; · Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards; · Communicate Health and Safety rules to all employees and ensure compliance. Identify the workplace risks of the workplace and implement corrective actions as required. · Fully understand and adhere to all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Quality, Security and Company policies and procedures; · Work as part of a team, follow and adhere to Transcontinental?s code of ethics and participate in the Continuous Improvements efforts. *What we are seeking in YOU:* · Operational experience with all functional areas of production, kitting, fulfillment, packaging and assembly of display and decor; . Strong computer skills including PC based software applications (such as outlook, word, excel, and power point); · Familiarity with material handling and material management systems; · Knowledge in PACE system, Print Stream and or other warehouse Inventory Management System is preferred; · Strong customer service skills, with both internal and external stakeholders; · Strong leadership, people and supervisory skills; · Ability to lead medium sized teams of people; · Strong organizational skills, with the a- LocationBrampton, ON
