*Advance Paper Box Ltd.* is a leading folding carton manufacturer located in Winnipeg, MB, specializing in custom packaging solutions. We serve a broad range of industries including food, healthcare, and consumer goods across North America. We are looking for a *Printing Press Operator* to Join our team. The Printing Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the printing press while maintaining quality and meeting the customer specifications. The individual ensures conformance to all Health and Safety Policies, Rules and Regulations, and general housekeeping standards. Operators should be able to meet or exceed production, quality, and efficiency requirements at all times. *Shift Schedule: Continental- Days- 12 hours shift * *salary starting- $21.98/hr* *Main Tasks and Responsibilities* * Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves) * Verify customer specifications for each product using the computer system. * Follow and complete all work instructions for each job. * Check quality continually ensuring standards are met or exceeded. Perform quality checks before sending the product to the Die Cutting department. * Conduct make-readies. * Troubleshoot and maintain printing equipment as required. * Responsible for knowing and performing equipment lockout procedures. * Ensure safe and efficient setup and operation of the printing equipment. * Ensure the products are always feeding in the sheet-fed printing press. * Make and change Printing plates as needed for the press runs. * Perform duties like washing up the ink unit, adding ink to the ink fountain, and maintaining the ink level during the production run. * Responsible for mixing water solution and maintaining water tank levels during production runs. * Change a coating blanket and update the coating types as SOP for different jobs to run. * Record production data as required (paperwork and on computer system). * Perform general housekeeping and other related duties as required. Qualifications and Education Requirements * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) * Experience operating large-format sheet-fed lithographic printing presses. * At least 3-4 years of Manufacturing Experience. * Lithographic Printing Press Operator experience is an asset. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively. * Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. * Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
