*Overview*
Reporting to the Manager of Client Care & Logistics, the Addiction Counsellor 3 is responsible for delivering high quality addiction treatment. The incumbent is a part of a collaborative treatment team that provides group facilitation and individual counselling sessions to individuals accessing services. The Addiction Counsellor 3 will therapeutically respond to individual and collective needs and collaboratively formulate treatment plans and promote health and progress in a clients? journey. The successful candidate will be registered in a professional regulatory body and have demonstrated capacity working with individuals experiencing Addiction and Mental Health issues. Additionally, this position will participate in weekly clinical meetings, be responsible for maintaining a professional and ethical framework and engage in ongoing learning to elevate clinical knowledge and application. This position will participate in occasional community initiatives and/or tables that strengthen service delivery. The Addictions Counsellor is also responsible for site security/maintenance (light duties that can be safely performed), housekeeping/food service, inventory control, administrative duties, fundraising (as requested during work hours), and community relations (promoting HPC to others). This position will provide service in both bed-based and community-based programs.
*Working Schedule *
Typical working schedule is Monday-Sunday (Assignment based on program/organizational need). Includes daytime and/or evening hours but not overnights; typically includes weekdays and/or weekends and may include statutory holidays with advance notice)

*Role and Responsibilities*
* Co-design treatment plan, transitional plan that is aligned with client assessment, presenting problem and desired outcome
* Provide/facilitate group and individualized clinical programming/sessions
* Apply non-violent crisis intervention strategies when required and professionally respond to crisis situations when they arise
* Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution when required
* Develop action plans, implementation and follow-up with the client on the routine basis to support the client treatment plan
* Provide psychoeducation that meets the client where they are at and offer adaptive strategies/coping skills focusing on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness
* Liase with primary care, community treatment organizations and resources to provide necessary support to the client
* Advocate and promote client-centered care in all affairs
* Utilize client routine outcome monitoring data in the development of individualized sessions
* Attend staff meetings and actively participate throughout
* Analyze assessment prior to client entry and adequately prepare to deliver high quality and individualized counselling services
* Conduct evidence-based interventions that reflect high quality promotion of health and well-being relevant to Addiction and Mental Health issues
* Execute timely and accurate documentation that adheres to the organizations? policies and procedures and regulatory college/body; maintain routine progress records
* Participate in the research, development and implementation phases of program material and delivery
* Provide colleagues with relevant information to assist in the delivery of services in a congregate setting
* Participate in clinical and organizational meetings for the purpose of delivering high quality addiction treatmen
