*About Us*
Win-Shield Devices is a Winnipeg-based company specializing in the design and manufacturing of personal protective equipment for industrial, medical, law enforcement, and military sectors. We have been awarded federal and provincial contracts and are positioned to expand our devices onto the global stage.
*The Role*
We are looking for a motivated engineer with a solid foundation in mechanical and/or design engineering. This role is key to helping us successfully launch new devices into the market and offers the chance to be part of cutting-edge innovation. We provide training to address any gaps in experience. *Eligibity Criteria *
This job is being funded by IRAP Youth Employment Program (YEP) which requires applicants must be under the age of 30 and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
*Requested Skills*
* Hands-on experience with designing and building functional mechanical prototypes.
* Experience designing complex parts/assemblies in CAD (Fusion 360 preferred).
* Working knowledge of materials engineering fundamentals (stress/strain, fatigue, etc.).
* Working knowledge of basic thermodynamics (heat transfer, fluid flow, etc.).
* Baseline knowledge of DFM for common manufacturing processes (injection molding, milling, 3D printing, etc.).
* Curiosity for cutting-edge technology and questioning the status quo to push the limits of innovation.
* A strong sense of accountability with the ability to learn from mistakes and move forward effectively.
*Preferred Skills*
* Experience designing systems/devices.
* Experience with surface modeling in CAD.
* Experience with government or regulatory agencies (e.g. NIOSH, CSA, NATO standards).
* Knowledge of quality management systems and quality assurance.
* Competence in using electrical test and prototyping equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, soldering, etc.).
* Experience with installing and troubleshooting components such as sensors and motors.
* Effective technical communicator who can explain complex concepts to a variety of audiences.
