For more information about our school district, visit https://www.vsb.bc.ca/<p>POSITION DETAILS: This is an itinerant position K-12 with a caseload of blind and partially sighted students. The teacher works as part of a team at the Vision Resource Centre as well as with staff in schools and other professionals in the field. The person in this position works directly with students and provides consultation to staff.<p><p>Qualifications<p><p><p><p> Bachelor of Education<p> Master?s Degree in Visual Impairment<p> Competency in Braille codes; French and music braille codes would be an asset<p> Working knowledge of eye conditions and the impact on learning needs of visually impaired students<p> Comprehensive understanding of adaptive technology is required<p> Ability to adapt strategies, techniques and materials needed to support visually impaired students.<p> BC Teaching Certificate (TRB)<p> Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS) <p><p>Your application must include the following documents:<p><p> Cover Letter<p> Resume (Teaching and Non-Teaching Work Experience)<p> Transcripts <p> Teaching Evaluation (lesson observations or mid-term reports, not accepted)<p> <p> Recent Graduates-include Final Practicum Reports<p> Experienced Teachers-include Teaching Evaluation within the past 8 years<p> <p> <p> At least 3 Professional References-email, number, months/years worked together<p> <p> Recent Graduates: 1.
