Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio. Tasks: Advise clients on beauty care treatments. Book appointments. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences. Shampoo customers' hair. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Perform receptionist duties. Maintain and order supplies. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Hairstylist Trade Certification. Hair styling techniques: Blow drying. Extensions. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Client focus. Flexibility. Team player. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
