Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders). Work setting: Group home. Work in employer's/client's home. Various locations. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Administrative and office activities. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Provide suicide and crisis intervention. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Implement behaviour management programs. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Mandt System training. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. Medication Administration Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Food Safety Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic mail. MS Office. Area of work experience: Community service organization. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
