We take pride in our strong sense of community and our commitment to the health and well-being of both pets and their owners. *Position Overview: *We are seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our close-knit team. As an RVT at Port Elgin, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality veterinary care to our patients while supporting our veterinarians and fostering strong client relationships. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to the overall success and growth of our clinic. *Responsibilities:* * Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and various medical procedures. * Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians. * Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and cytology. * Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of hospitalized patients. * Provide excellent patient care and client education on topics such as nutrition, preventive care, and treatment options. * Prepare and maintain accurate medical records and documentation. * Conduct radiographs and assist in diagnostic imaging procedures. * Handle and restrain animals in a gentle and compassionate manner. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suite. * Assist in inventory management. * Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure efficient clinic operations. *Qualifications:* * Graduation from an accredited Veterinary Technician program and current RVT certification. * Strong passion for animal care and well-being. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. * Proficiency in basic computer skills and record-keeping. * Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and occasional evenings. * Prior experience in a veterinary clinic setting is preferred, however new grads are encouraged to apply! *Benefits:* * Competitive salary commensurate with experience. * Health and dental insurance. * Continuing education opportunities. * Generous pet care discounts. * Vacation and paid time off. * Positive and supportive work environment. * *Reporting:The RVT primary reporting responsibility is to the Practice Manager of the veterinary practice.Application Process: * If you are a dedicated and compassionate RVT with a genuine love for animals, we would love to hear from you!
