Barber Collins Security is looking for 2 Security Guards for a location that is South of Barrie in Bradford, ON. The guard would be stationed in a working guard house. *Obtaining a personal vehicle is mandatory as this site has no access to a bus route.* *Shifts\**: \*Schedule will be based off of a mandatory 2-week rotation Must be able to commit to the assigned schedule consisting of: * Range from days (12 hour shifts), nights (12 hour shifts) and some weekends. * Schedule is subject to change. * Part time/full time hours when required. * Must be available weekdays/weeknights, weekends and statutory holidays. * Must be extremely flexible and available. *Responsibilities:* * Conduct regular foot patrols. * Customer service - directing contractors to the appropriate location and providing assistance when necessary. * Protect company?s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment. * Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences. * Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates. * Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment. * Access control for the facility/area. * Log in and allow access to trucks and trailers. * Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents. * Input employee information into card access system. Make access cards. * Keep site supervisor , Operations Manager aware of operational issues *Skills:* * Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position. * Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field. * Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment. * Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols. * Surveillance skills and detail orientation. * Integrity and professionalism. * Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones. * Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills. *Barber-Collins Security welcomes and encourages qualified applications from people with disabilities.
