Job details
*A step in the right direction!*
We have an exciting opportunity for a *Forestry Professional*!
*About Us*
*Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd*. is a family-owned integrated wood products manufacturing company with operations throughout north-central British Columbia. Since 1962 the dedicated team at Sinclar Group has been building strong and stable businesses by encouraging leadership and innovation in our workforce, upholding the family values that framed our beginnings, and respecting the needs of the communities in which we all live and work.
Working with integrity is fundamental to the Sinclar Group of Companies. The health and safety of our employees, our commitment to responsible environmental stewardship, ethical dealings with our business partners, and contributing to the economic and social fabric of the communities in which we operate define the essence of who we are.
While our focus is meeting the needs of our customers, our success is driven by our people.
*The Opportunity - Forestry Supervisor*
As the *Forestry Supervisor*, you will be part of the larger Sinclar Group Woodlands team and will have various levels of responsibilities in safety, First Nation relations, community relations, operational planning, contractor management, and financial controls. With demonstrated professionalism and a steadfast commitment to safety as a priority, you take initiative, work both independently and collaboratively, manage priorities, time, and possess excellent communication skills.
To be considered for the *Forestry Supervisor* role, you possess at least three (3) years of forestry experience and are a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT). This position will appeal to those that want responsibility of managing operations including road and bridge building, maintenance, deactivation, harvesting, transportation, and log quality. This includes fibre sourced from company tenures, First Nation partnerships, purchases, and trades.
Further opportunities will be provided to expand your experience in addition to roles commensurate with your qualifications. These roles are flexible in nature, providing opportunity for collaboration and involvement in many aspects of our business.
*As the successful candidates, we ask that you reside in one of the three communities in which we operate (Prince George, Vanderhoof, and Fort St James). Preference will be given to those who currently reside in Vanderhoof or Fort St. James or are willing to relocate to either of these two communities*.
*Communities*
*Prince George*

Today it is a major center for resource and transportation activity and a service center for communities across the north. It has a healthy economy that offers full opportunities for recreation, housing, employment, education, dining, entertainment, and culture.
*Vanderhoof*

Offering affordable housing, reasonable tax rates, great education, superior health services, access to government services and a strong retail and service sector, this is a great place to raise a family, operate a business or even retire! Rich in culture, history, natural resources and recreational opportunities, Vanderhoof really is at the heart of it all!
*Fort St. James*
In a community that offers affordable housing and an idyllic lifestyle for those who enjoy the great outdoors, Fort St. James is an energetic, active and diverse community that genuinely reflects the northern way of life.
