Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. Noisy. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Instruct apprentices. Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Powered equipment repair specialization: Hydraulic-operated working attachments. Electric generators. Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Mechanical transmissions. Hydraulic transmissions. Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Manual dexterity. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
