We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Intermediate Procurement Specialist to join a growing manufacturing team in Delta, BC. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, experience in procurement processes, and a keen eye for managing vendor relationships and securing high-quality materials at competitive prices.
As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and supplies needed for our manufacturing operations. You will work closely with various departments to ensure production schedules are met, cost-effective solutions are implemented, and quality standards are maintained.
*Key Responsibilities:*
- Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, components, and other supplies required for manufacturing.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate with production teams to forecast material needs and adjust orders as necessary.
- Track purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Work within budgetary constraints to find cost-effective purchasing solutions without compromising on quality.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and vendor performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor communications.
- Collaborate with other departments (production, logistics, quality control) to support smooth operations.
- Resolve any issues related to suppliers, materials, or orders to ensure minimal disruption to the production process.
*Qualifications:*
- 3 years previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of inventory management and procurement systems.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office and purchasing software/tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and results-oriented attitude.
