We are accepting applications for the following full-time permanent Basic Custodian position at Stratford District Secondary School, Stratford, Ontario. This is a 1.0 FTE position, effective immediately. <p>Compensation Package Details: <p>Rate of pay: $25.10 to $ 25.59 in accordance with the Basic Custodian grid, as outlined in the UNIFOR Collective Agreement.<p>Start Date : Immediately<p>Hours of Work: 40 hours per week with a minimum 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break for a total of 8.5 hours per day; 12 months per year. Shift work is required. <p>Pension Plan : Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS)Health & Dental Benefits: Benefits ae provided through Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP)<p> Comprehensive short-term and long-term disability coverage plans<p> Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through TELUS with includes: <p> 24/7 confidential support<p> Access to information on personal fitness, nutrition, career, financial & legal advice; relationship & family support, and overall wellbeing resources. <p> The Basic Custodian duties may include: <p> Building Maintenance <p> change lights<p> shovel snow<p> operate snow blower<p> clean and inspect roof<p> operate grass cutting equipment<p> perform minor repairs<p> conduct health and safety checks<p> service roof top unit <p> Building Cleaning operate and maintain all equipment<p> perform all minor and major cleaning and major cleaning as outlined in cleaning checklists and Standard Operating Procedures Qualifications: <p> The ideal candidate should possess: <p> the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding;<p> mechanical aptitude with experience in 1 or more of the trade disciplines e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry;<p> exemplary interpersonal, professional and organizational skills;<p> the ability to use a computer e.g., GAFE;<p> experience in handling machinery i.e., buffing machine, lawn mowers, snowblowers;<p> knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies;<p> access to a reliable mode of transportation; and <p> satisfactory attendance will be a consideration when awarding this position.
