Whether you're a seasoned educator or embarking on your journey in the field of education, Langley School District offers ample opportunities for professional growth and development.<p> <p>Reports to the Plumber Foreman and installs, maintains and repairs plumbing and gas components and equipment.<p> <p>POSTING DETAILS <p><p> Position - Plumber/Gas Fitter<p> Start Date - As soon as possible<p> Employment - Permanent, Full-time (40 hrs/wk)<p> Hours - Monday to Friday (7:30am to 4:00pm)<p><p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES <p><p> Installs, maintains and repairs water, fire sprinkling and sewage systems.<p><p><p> Installs, maintains and repairs domestic and school lab gas equipment.<p><p><p> Collects samples and data from sewage pumping stations (septic fields).<p><p><p> Maintains sports field irrigation systems including Fall winterization.<p><p><p> Maintains an adequate stock of material.<p><p><p> Operates tools and equipment of the trade.<p><p><p> Respond to emergency situations as requested.<p><p><p> Inspects (daily) and operates a service vehicle.<p><p><p> Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification.<p><p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS <p><p> Completion of Grade 12.<p><p><p> Apprenticeship, and/or Trades Qualification Certificate (Plumbing, including Class "B" Gas Fitter's Ticket) or willingness to certify. <p><p><p> Two year's experience in an institutional/commercial setting.<p><p><p> Cross Connection Control Certificate, or willingness to certify.<p><p><p> B.C. Driver's License.<p><p><p> Ability to perform a variety of skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing and gas components and equipment.<p><p><p> Thorough and current knowledge of the standards, practices, regulations, methods, tools and equipment of the trade.<p><p><p> Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work sketches.<p><p><p> Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information.<p><p><p> Ability to determine, judge and select appropriate course of action within the limits of established methods and procedures.<p><p><p> Physical ability to perform the required duties.<p><p>For your application to be considered, all required documents must be included: <p><p> Resume <p> Email addresses for a minimum of three references (ideally, former supervisors from your most recent/relevant role)<p> Proof of completion of Grade 12 / graduation from high school (or completion of other post-secondary education)<p> Scanned copy of your valid BC Drivers license <p> Recent copy of your drivers abstract/history (obtained from ICBC) <p> Copies of any relevant post-secondary certificates<p><p>PLEASE NOTE <p><p> In accordance with the Criminal Record Review Act, successful applicants will be required to consent to a Criminal Record Check prior to employment. <p> We thank you for your interest in the Langley School District; however, only those persons selected for interviews will be contacted.- LocationLangley, BC
