Position Title:Cutter Deck OperatorPosition Type: Regular - Full-Time Requisition ID: 32261 Summary: Responsible for safely overseeing the equipment and overall process in the Cutter Deck Area to deliver product meeting all quality specifications. Essential Duties / Responsibilities: Monitor the performance of the cutting system through various tests such as tube alignment, cut quality, shattering and breakage. Ensure proper PEF operation by monitoring for shatter. Monitor and optimize waste streams from the cutting area such as slivers, nubbins and ADR cubes. Change, disassemble and rebuild cutter heads as well as occasionally sharpen cutter blades. Change, disassemble and rebuild mechanical cutters as well as occasionally sharpen cutter blades. Operate and monitor the Welliver camera system and make adjustments as required to ensure efficient cutting throughout every shift. Operate and monitor the robotic halver system to optimize product length. Ensure correct spare cutter heads are stored in the sleeves at the cutter deck and ready at mechanical cutters. Maintain good housekeeping and sanitation practices in the cutter deck area including 5S, routinely scheduled tasks, daily HPC (High Performance Clean) and ACS. Provide support and relief to the ADR Operator.Must be willing to cross train to cover ADR operators. Must be able to operate all equipment associated with defect removal including ADRs and Tegras. Cleans cameras on optimizer and lane conveyor at least once a shift. Maintains all required documentation including entering SPC/OSI PI/MDI data. Complete routinely scheduled sanitation tasks including high pressure washing, scrubbing, deep cleaning, ACS, waste disposal, and general housekeeping. Performing required daily tests to ensure product quality, consistency, and determine equipment effectiveness. Then recording results into the designated McCain database to drive Real Time Management and support MDI data analysis. Other related duties as assigned. Prior to the start of Sunlight plant production, this role will be involved in the SuM process including commissioning, and equipment testing. Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies) Must have proven history of safe work habits. Familiar with SPC, Process Control, OSI PI, SAP are beneficial. Basic computer skills are required. Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS. Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work on a rotating shift basis. Familiarity within process control testing and entering results into the designated McCain database. Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable) Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS. Must be willing to obtain Confined Space & Rescue, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift Physical RequirementsAble to safely follow the heat stress policy requirements.
