*Who we are* Established in 1998, Altalis has been the authoritative source of spatial data and imagery in Alberta for over 25 years. Altalis has a joint venture agreement with Alberta Data Partnerships Ltd. (ADP) and is responsible for the day-to-day management and distribution of ADP and other digital data sets. As the agent for ADP, we are responsible for making mapping products available, accessible, accurate and affordable. We are the leading data management, maintenance, and distribution company in Alberta, and ensure the continued updating, re-engineering, storage, distribution, value-added redistribution, and general management of primary provincial mapping datasets. *Who you are* We are seeking a true leader, a visionary and driven *General Manager* to lead Altalis. Reporting directly to the CEO of the Silvacom Group, this role is ideal for a strategic leader who will learn the Altalis business in depth, manage and develop a small team, and drive sustained growth across our operations and customer base. This role offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious leader to make an impact and grow with our organization and the broader Silvacom Group of Companies. *Position Type & Location * This position will be based out of Calgary, Alberta, with travel to Edmonton for in-person meetings when required. *What you will do* * *Leadership and Team Development* * Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. * Demonstrate strong non-authoritative leadership to build a motivated and cohesive team. * *Strategic Growth and Business Development* * Spearhead growth initiatives to expand Altalis's market presence, customer base, and service offerings across Alberta?s geomatics and development sectors. * Identify new business opportunities and oversee new product development tailored to industry needs, especially in GIS, remote sensing, and data services. * Cultivate and maintain key relationships with the Government of Alberta and other major stakeholders, ensuring Altalis remains a trusted partner in the industry. * *Financial and Operational Management* * Manage and oversee financial operations, including budgeting, sales data analysis, and financial reporting. * Build and manage budgets, ensure financial targets are met, and provide regular business updates to the CEO. * Analyze sales statistics and metrics to drive continuous improvement in data sales and customer satisfaction. * *Industry Expertise and Service Excellence* * Leverage your knowledge of the Alberta geomatics and survey industry to align Altalis?s offerings with market demands. * Ensure Altalis's products and services meet high standards of quality and relevance, with a focus on customer-centric solutions and industry-leading data streaming/feature services. *What you bring* * *Industry Knowledge*: Solid understanding of the Alberta geomatics and survey data industry, along with familiarity with Altalis's role and use cases across utilities, pipelines, oil & gas, general resource development including renewable energy, and municipal sectors. * *Leadership Experience*: Proven ability to lead a team, with a focus on mentorship and fostering a high-performance culture. * *Business Acumen*: Strong financial management, accounting principles, and budgeting experience. * *Government Relations*: Demonstrated ability or experience in managing relationships with government bodies, especially within Alberta. * *Technical Understanding*: Background in GIS, remote sensing, or data sales operations. * *Strategic Mindset*: A track record of identifying growth opportunities, launching new products or services, and driving strategic business initiatives. *Seem like a good fit?* This is a unique chance to shape and expand a well-regarded company within the Alberta geomatics industry, with significant potential for career growth within Altalis and the larger Silvacom Group.
