Our client is a leading manufacturing firm specializing in high-quality edible products.
Committed to excellence and innovation, they are seeking a highly skilled Senior
Accountant to join their finance team. This position offers a clear path to advancement,
with the opportunity to grow into an Accounting Manager role.
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will oversee a wide range of accounting functions, including full-
cycle accounting, accounts payable and receivable, inventory management, cash flow
management, and financial reporting. This critical role ensures the financial integrity of
operations and provides key support for strategic decision-making processes.
This is a full-time, in-office role, requiring attendance five days a week at the North York
location, which is accessible by the TTC.
Key Responsibilities:
? Full-Cycle Accounting:
Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, account
reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements (balance sheets, income
statements, and cash flow statements). Lead month-end and year-end closing
processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
? Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable:
Supervise the processing and reconciliation of vendor invoices and customer payments.
Ensure timely payment of obligations and efficient collection of receivables while
maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships.
? Inventory Management:
Collaborate with operations teams to monitor and reconcile inventory balances.
Ensure accurate costing of inventory in the financial system and analyze inventory
variances.
Provide insights on inventory trends and assist in optimizing inventory levels.
? Cash Flow Management:
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational
needs. Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
? Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-
making. Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting processes, offering a financial
perspective to drive business planning.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
? 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
? Active pursuit of CPA certification is preferred.
? Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
? Experience with inventory management and reconciliation is a strong asset.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex
financial concepts clearly.
? Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
