We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards of financial integrity.
*Position Overview: *
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee our accounting department and ensure the accurate and efficient execution of financial processes. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a small team and overseeing various aspects of the accounting cycle, including payroll, PST and GST remittance, month-end financials, and year-end preparation for CPA review. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a growing organization in the home security industry.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance.
* Ensure accurate and timely remittance of PST and GST.
* Prepare month-end financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
* Assist in the year-end financial audit process, preparing necessary documentation for CPA review.
* Monitor and maintain compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulations.
* Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
* Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* CPA designation is required
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
* Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
* Effective communication and leadership abilities.
