*Job Title*: Car Painter / Auto Body Technician *Location*: Unity Recruitments Inc. *Job Type*: Full-Time *Job Overview*: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Car Painter / Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and refinishing vehicle bodies to restore them to their original condition. You will also be responsible for repairing minor body damage and ensuring that the vehicles meet high-quality standards before delivery to clients. *Key Responsibilities*: * *Prepare Vehicle Surfaces*: Sand, clean, and prepare vehicles for painting by removing rust, dents, and old paint. Mask off areas that should not be painted (windows, trim, etc.). * *Paint Application*: Mix paint and apply coatings, including primer, base coats, and clear coats, using spray guns or other equipment. Ensure even coverage and smooth finishes. * *Repair Body Damage*: Assess and repair dents, scratches, and other body damages by sanding, filling, and smoothing surfaces. * *Finishing Touches*: Buff, polish, and detail the vehicle to achieve a high-quality finish. Apply protective coatings and ensure proper drying times. * *Maintenance of Equipment*: Maintain and clean painting and body repair tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. * *Quality Control*: Inspect completed work for imperfections, matching color accurately, and ensuring the vehicle meets company standards. * *Collaboration*: Work closely with other technicians, body workers, and parts specialists to ensure vehicles are restored correctly and on time. * *Safety and Compliance*: Follow all safety guidelines, use proper protective gear, and adhere to environmental regulations regarding paint fumes and chemicals. *Required Qualifications*: * Proven experience as a car painter, auto body technician, or similar role in an automotive shop. * Proficient in various painting techniques, including spray painting and touch-ups. * Knowledge of auto body repair techniques and materials. * Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of paint booths, spray guns, and other related equipment. * Strong attention to detail and an eye for color matching. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. * A valid driver?s license and reliable transportation. *Preferred Qualifications*: * Certification in auto body repair or related field. * Experience with specialized auto body painting and advanced repair techniques. * Knowledge of industry-specific software for estimating and tracking work orders. *Physical Requirements*: * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Must be able to stand for long periods and work in a physically demanding environment. * Ability to work in various weather conditions and temperatures. *Compensation*: * Competitive salary based on experience. * Benefits package (health insurance, retirement plan, etc.). *How to Apply*: Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a resume and portfolio of previous work.
