Job details
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will perform various accounting and administrative tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our department.
*Key Responsibilities*
· Reconcile company credit card transactions in Concur and ensure timely reporting. Address and resolve any discrepancies or missing documentation.
· GST/ HST/ WSIB Filing, calculate and prepare WSIB remittances, GST/HST & PST to be filed. Maintain accurate and accessible tax records.
· Gas Card Management, resolve issues related to company gas cards, including discrepancies and replacements.
· Credit Applications, Complete and submit credit applications to vendors and other parties as required.
· Perform Month-End Entries, conduct full cycle accounting, including GL account maintenance, cash and bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and sales reconciliations. Perform Accounts receivable and payable month end tie out.
· Payroll Journal Entries Process payroll-related journal entries accurately and timely.
· Intercompany Billing, generate and process intercompany billing and invoices. Post intercompany invoices in related companies, perform monthly reconciliations and make accruals where required.
· Document Management, maintain an organized and efficient financial document filing system. Provide required documents to external accountants for year-end processes.
· ERP and Excel Utilization, Use ERP systems to manage financial data and perform routine accounting tasks. Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Excel for analysis and reconciliation purposes.
· General Support Collaborate with the finance team to ensure deadlines are met. Assist with ad hoc financial tasks as needed.
· Ensure all deadlines are met in a timely manner and in accordance with corporate standards.
*Qualifications and Skills*
*Education:* High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor?s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. Enrollment in a CPA program.
*Experience:* Minimum of 3 experience in accounting or a related role.
*Technical Skills: *Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas). Familiarity with Concur for credit card reconciliation.
*Soft Skills:*
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to resolve issues effectively and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Handling sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner
Strong team player who also works well independently.
*Working Conditions*
? Standard office hours with occasional overtime during month-end and year-end periods.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.50-$21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
