Many Nations Financial Services Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Finance as an Accounting Technician you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting various accounting, payroll, and licensing functions.
Responsibilities:
· Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, revenue, receipts, and payments.
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
· Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
· Calculate and process agent commissions from carrier statements and maintain payroll files for each pay period.
· Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial laws.
· Handle corporate and agent licensing and apply for corporate and principal licensing where necessary.
· Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Certificate relative to your position and at least 3-years experience in payroll/accounting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
· Familiarity with Saskatchewan Labour Standards, Saskatchewan Workers? Compensation Board requirements, Employment Insurance reporting requirements, and the Income Tax Act.
· Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Working knowledge of Sage 300 (ACCPAC) for Windows is an asset.
· Ability to exercise sound judgment with attention to detail.
· Superior organizational skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Working knowledge of the insurance/financial planning industry is an asset.
· Excellent team building and team playing skills. An appreciation and sensitivity to the diversity of opinions and talents of others.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.04-$31.09 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
