This position is to start immediately. We are a commercial Beekeeping operation located 1 mile South of Good Spirit Lake, SK. NE 4-29-5 W2nd. Employees must have own transportation to the job site. Relevant Skills / Experience: Equipment basic operation and maintenance, handyman and hand tool skills. First Aid / CPR. Driver's License an asset. Some formal training in the beekeeping industry required. Working Conditions:-Long hours may be required during the harvest period of July and August. You may be asked to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. -Some tasks are performed outside regardless of weather conditions.-Work may be repetitive and physically demanding, requiring self-motivation. -Safety precautions must be followed and protective clothing worn to avoid injury. -Appropriate hygiene practices must be followed to prevent or control the spread of diseases from hive to hive or the contamination of the hive products. -Heavy lifting is required.-Strong work ethic a must! Duties:-Supering hives-Harvesting honey-Cleaning honey extraction and storage equipment-Honey extraction-Barrel moving, preparation, filling, and storage-Manufacture, assemble, maintain hive equipment-Bee yard maintenance Personal Characteristics:Apiary Technicians need the following characteristics:Good physical and mental healthGood coordination and manual dexterityAbility to follow instructions and work without supervisionGeneral interest in apiculture and a willingness to learnA responsible attitude when handling equipmentAbility to work in a team environment Flexibility and adaptability Employment and Advancement: To advance, Technicians will require multiple years of experience within a commercial apiary operation.- LocationGood Spirit Acres, SK
