*Position Summary*
The HR Manager at HeavyAero is a strategic and operational leader responsible for advancing the organization's human resources functions while driving alignment with business goals. This role focuses on streamlining HR functions, enhancing workforce management, and implementing policies and programs that foster employee engagement, compliance, and operational excellence. Recruiting top talent in the highly competitive aviation sector is central to the company?s success, making the HR Manager a vital contributor to HeavyAero?s expansion and long-term sustainability.
*Core Responsibilities *
*Strategic Leadership:*
* Develop and execute HR strategies that align with HeavyAero's business goals.
* Ensure succession planning and talent development for key positions.
* Analyze HR-related metrics to inform leadership decisions.
*Team Management:*
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3-5 HR professionals.
* Delegate responsibilities effectively while fostering collaboration.
*Policy Development & Compliance:*
* Create, manage, and communicate HR policies and the Employee Handbook.
* Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment laws and aviation safety standards.
*Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:*
* Oversee recruitment processes, from job postings to onboarding.
* Design strategies to attract top talent in a competitive market.
* Leverage expertise in recruiting international workers, including navigating timelines, processes, and legal requirements.
*Employee Relations & Performance Management:*
* Provide guidance on employee relations, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
* Investigate workplace issues with confidentiality and sensitivity.
*Training & Development:*
* Identify employee training needs and coordinate learning programs.
* Implement professional development plans to upskill the workforce.
*HR Operations & Administration:*
* Maintain HR databases, records, and documentation.
* Administer employee benefits programs and manage WCB and disability claims.
* Drive efficiency through streamlining HR processes.
* Drive efficiency by integrating Rippling software to streamline payroll and HR processes.
*Safety & Compliance:*
* Actively participate in HeavyAero?s Safety Management System and Quality Assurance programs.
* Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety protocols.
*Grant Research & Acquisition:*
* Identify and apply for grants that align with business goals, such as those for green economy and Indigenous initiatives.
*Change Management:*
* Facilitate organizational change by introducing innovative HR solutions.
* Lead initiatives to improve workplace culture and employee satisfaction.

* *Leadership & Team Management:* Proven experience managing HR teams and mentoring junior staff.
* *Problem-Solving:* Expertise in handling complex HR challenges with tact and creativity.

* *Interpersonal Skills:* High emotional intelligence to manage employee relations effectively.
* *Technical Proficiency:* Adept in HR software, data analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* *Adaptability:* Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* *Attention to Detail:* Skilled in managing compliance, documentation, and regulatory standards.
*Qualifications *
* University degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum 5+ years in HR management.
* Experience with Rippling HR software is mandatory; preference for power users.
* Proven knowledge of Canadian employment laws and international recruitment processes.
* MRO or aviation/aircraft industry experience is strongly preferred.
* Professional certifications (e.g., CPHR, CEBS) are an asset.
