Zone: Central Zone Location: JPM - James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander Registered Nurse I Central Zone - JPM Nursing Relief Permanent Full-time 40917FLT Hours 75 (8 hours, Rotating; Days, Evenings, On-Call, Standby, Weekends) Salary NS28 (CAD38.62 - CAD48.10 per hour) Competition Number VAC0003256 Posted Date 2024-11-20 Closing Date 2024-11-30 Demands, duties, qualifications Definition of Work:This professional nursing position will work in collaboration with team members across various aspects of the surgical services program within the facility and has responsibility to provide complete nursing care in the Operating Room, Recovery Room, Endoscopy, Infusion Clinic, Minor Procedures and Day Surgery. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements. Physical Demands:By applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to): Constantly moves/lifts up to 10-15lbs, regularly moves/lifts up to 50lbs; required to restrain/reposition/move/lift up to, or above, 50lbs with co-worker assistance and repetitively required to complete pushing/pulling with medium force (22-44lbsF).Constantly stands/walks. May work in awkward or cramped positions to assist with procedures. Work repetitively involves reaching/stretching, bending/twisting and repeated bouts of low-level postures such as squatting, crouching or stooping.Potential for exposure to blood, bodily fluids and/or other contagion. May be exposed to patients/residents with potential risk for aggressive behavior.Work Environments present potential for exposure to scented/chemical products and/or other allergens within publicly accessible areas.Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.Current ACLS certification or willingness to complete.Current BLS certification for health care providers from, the Heart and Stroke Foundation.Current Health Assessment certification or must be willing to complete next available course.Completion of a comprehensive recognized peri-operative nursing course.Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values; Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence (I CARE)A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.Preferred Qualifications: Two years current surgical nursing experience (within the last 5 years).Recent Endoscopy experience (within the last 2 years).Recent Perioperative experience (within the last 2 years).Completion of a recognized Perioperative course.- LocationGander, NL
