<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p>The Food Market is a small town grocery store located in Coaldale, Alberta, committed to offering excellent customer service to our close-knit community, supporting local farmers and small businesses all while striving to offer great products at fair prices.</p><p><strong>STORE HOURS:</strong></p><p>Monday - Saturday 8:30AM - 9:00PM, Sunday 9:00AM -6:00PM</p><p>The Food Market is looking for a Grocery Clerk/Cashier who to work primarily day shifts. We are seeking someone responsible, motivated, organized and punctual.</p><p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Handles customer concerns, special orders and ensures an appropriate resolution to store situations and inquiries</li><li>Perform general cleaning duties, stock shelves, rotate product, and maintain merchandise displays, ensuring an organized stocked store.</li><li>Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their shopping experience. this includes carry-outs, price checks, break coverage, cash support as needed on till, and bagging customer purchases</li><li>Operates machinery and equipment such as cardboard baler/compactor and manual floor jacks, safely and correctly</li><li>Provide feedback to management on all products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues</li><li>Adhere to cash policies and procedures</li><li>Comply with all established store policies and procedures while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>JOB-TYPE</strong></p><ul><li>25 to 30 hours per week. Schedule will be consistent but some flexibility may be required</li></ul><p><strong>START DATE:</strong></p><ul><li>As soon as possible</li></ul><p><strong>BENEFITS:</strong></p><ul><li>Group benefits (after 3 months probationary period) including dental care and extended health care</li><li>On-site parking</li><li>Staff events</li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li><li>Retail floor and cashier experience an asset</li></ul><p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving, placing product weighing up to 50+ pounds, on shelving at various heights</li><li>Able to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk for duration of shift</li><li>Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>Provides prompt and courteous customer service</li><li>Ability to operate a cash register/point of sales system efficiently and accurately</li><li>Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures</li><li>Confident in verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Able to work both independently and within a team environment</li><li>Able to evaluate and drive performance of self</li><li>Able to stay organized, give attention to detail, follow instructions and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner</li><li>Must be 18 years of age or older</li><li>Driver's License preferred</li></ul><p>Job Types: Part-time, Permanent</p><p>Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour</p><p>Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>On-site parking</li><li>Store discount</li></ul><p>Flexible language requirement:</p><ul><li>French not required</li></ul><p>Shift:</p><ul><li>Day shift</li></ul><p>Work days:</p><ul><li>Weekends as needed</li></ul><p>Work Location: In person</p></div></div>- LocationCoaldale, AB
