Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Order parts and maintain inventory. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Welding experience. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Service attachments and working tools. Verify and repair emission control systems. Perform other routine maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T). Diesel engine repair specialization: Exhaust system. Cooling system. Air conditioning system. Lubrication system. Engine control system. Major internal engine repairs or overhaul. Powered equipment repair specialization: Compressors. Pumps. Electric generators. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Drive trains and final drives. Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering. Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering. Highway vehicle tires and wheels. Differentials. Brake system. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Drug test. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel. Willing to travel regularly.
