*Job Summary* The Carpenter works under the direction of the Project Manager to meet the project?s expected goals. The Carpenter will work in the warehouse and on-site, depending on the work being completed. Carpenters implement scopes of work that adhere to the quality standards of Downs Construction. *Job Responsibilities* * Maintaining professionalism and presenting Downs Construction positively to various stakeholders * Interpreting and creating comprehensive scopes of work * Demonstrating skill in the safe operation of shop tools * Following all company policies and standards * Completing all necessary documentation * Coaching, assisting, and delegating tasks to labourers and sub trades * Practicing good housekeeping on the job and in the warehouse * Dealing with a changing work environment daily * Understanding different municipal and provincial building code requirements * Completing jobs in an efficient and timely manner Job Requirements * Certified Journeyman Carpenter (Red Seal) * Valid BC drivers? license * Ability to pass a criminal background check * Detail oriented * Ability to work well alone or as part of a team * Practical knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance * Knowledge of workplace safety standards * Available for on-call after hours emergencies * Experience in the restoration industry * Legally authorized to work in Canada Compensation * Salary: *$33 - $39 per hour* * Benefits: An extensive benefits plan including company-issued cell phone, extended health, dental, and LTD. * Position: *Full-time* Job Type: Full-time Pay: $33.00-$39.00 per hour Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Automobile allowance * Casual dress * Company car * Company events * Dental care * Extended health care * Life insurance * RRSP match * Vision care * Wellness program Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * Day shift * Monday to Friday * On call * Weekends as needed Education: * Secondary School (preferred) Experience: * carpentry: 1 year (preferred) Language: * English (required) Licence/Certification: * Driving Licence (required) Location: * Nanaimo, BC (required) Work Location: In person- LocationNanaimo, BC
