Mission Eye Care is a fast paced, local, 5 doctor independent optometry practice located just south of downtown Calgary in the community of Mission. We continue to grow and are looking to add another full-time optometric technician to join our team! Those who demonstrate a passion for the industry will have ample opportunity for professional growth and advancement. Duties and Responsibilities: You would be a team player and possess strong critical thinking skills. Your main role is collecting relevant patient history and taking preliminary measurements but you will also be taught how to perform patient procedures over time. You will be responsible for: * Communicating with patients, staff, and doctors; gathering relevant medical history, learning medical terminology and abbreviations as needed * Training patients to wear contact lenses safely * Testing and treatments for dry eye. This requires steady hand-eye coordination and comfort around touching areas of the eyes and face. You will be assisting our doctors and performing some procedures independently with appropriate training We value excellence in patient care and recognize our staff as our most valuable asset.
