*Job Overview*
Medical Office Assistant will provide services to the Primary Care team with respect to administrative services to the team and clients. The MOA will work at booking appointments for members, maintaining schedules for primary care clinicians, and providing various administrative duties for the Primary Care Initiative.
Responsible for providing non-emergent primary and preventative care MOA services to the 10 North Island Nations in the communities and in urban settings.
Travel and the use of a personal vehicle are requirements of this position.
*Responsibilities*
* Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner at the front desk.
* Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
* Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar using electronic medical records systems.
* Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and handle patient communications effectively.
* Collect patient information and verify insurance details accurately.
* Assist with maintaining patient records, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
* Support healthcare providers by preparing examination rooms and assisting during procedures as needed.
* Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
* Ensuring that all necessary patient information is present in patients' electronic charts for daily scheduled appointment
* Taking calls for medical travel and organizing transportation
* Developing and maintaining databases and reports.
*Skills*
* Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
* Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare environment.
* Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients, families, and staff members.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
* Strong organizational skills to manage various tasks efficiently within the office setting.
