Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Wet/damp. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Construction site. Swimming pool/centre. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Instruct apprentices. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Schedule personnel, tools and equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Supervise other workers. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Supervision: 3-4 people. Swimming pool installers. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification. Working at heights training. Confined Space Entry Training. Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Type of product: Swimming pools/equipment. Security and safety: Bondable. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Responsibilities
