Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: General manufacturing. Tasks: Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Equipment and machinery experience: Drill presses. Engine lathes. Milling machines. Sawing machine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Experience: 5 years or more.
