Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work site environment: Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Odours. Outdoors. Work setting: On-site customer service. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Install and overhaul heating systems. Install refrigeration systems. Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems. Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks. Prepare tenders and quotations. Troubleshoot heating systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Coach and instruct apprentices. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Interpret gas codes. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Heat pump. Air motioning and circulation. Filtration. Built up (split system). Humidification and de-humidification system. Ventilation. Cooling tower. Geothermal. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail.
