*ROLE:* The Finance Manager will be directly responsible for the financial success of Montreal Lake Child & Family Agency Inc., the administration of its operations, strategic financial planning, financial leadership, manage budgets, oversee accounting functions, conduct forecast analysis, and monitor corporate credit.

*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to develop cost budgets for all operational aspects of the organization; manage project budgets, forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.
* Report on a regular basis the company?s status against, and ability to meet, its strategic and operational objectives.
* Collect and analyze cost data versus budget for ascertaining financial performance and risk assessment.
* Prepare reports and evaluations for individual projects.
* Develop accounting policies and procedures relevant to accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and project tracking.
* Create and enforce business rules for all financial reporting.
* Communicate and collaborate with departmental leaders to stay abreast of spending, budgeting, reports, and evaluation.
* Monitor legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to financial reporting and operations.
* Analyze variable costs and make budget adjustments as appropriate.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with provincial, and federal government agencies, as well as professional organizations such as consultancy firms and auditors.
* Facilitate and oversee any auditing conducted by third parties to ensure effective resolution and closure of auditing activities.
* Lead and supervise finance department staff on accounting, reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and other financial matters.
* Develop and implement short- and long-term financial plans and forecasts in accordance with organization?s goals and objectives.
* Investigate variances in budgets, reporting, internal controls, and general accounting; deploy measures to resolve variances.
* Provide general counsel to the Executive Director/Board on all business and financial matters.
* Implement corporate policies, procedures, and organizational structure for assigned operating unit within the framework of corporate policy.
* Provide support to any number of projects from an operational, financial and resource standpoint.
* Oversee the Montreal Lake Child & Family Agency Inc?s financial accountability and controls; ensure appropriate fiscal controls are in place to meet statutory compliance and the integrity of data and statements.
* Oversee the organization's budget process; establish timelines; provide support to the management team; hold the management team accountable for process.
* Plan, staff, and supervise all assigned work unit activities through subordinate managers to ensure a cohesive operational unit.
* Provide advice, guidance, and direction to subordinate executives and managers toward their professional development.
* Manage in-house support staff and supporting consultants and vendors.
* Manage the development, implementation and tracking of Montreal Lake Child & Family Agency Inc.'s annual budgeting process such that the budgets will be in sufficient depth to form the basis for the planning process and for financial performance comparisons.
* Identify and analyze information to give early warning of potential problems and recommend corrective action.
* Manage reporting to appropriate government agencies.
* Oversee the design, implementation, and management of Information Technology infrastructure to ensure that IT operations are aligned with organizational strategy and objectives.
