CLAS is dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities, create inclusive opportunities, promote independence, and enhance the quality of life for the people we support. CLAS is committed to person centered supports, advocacy and social inclusion. CLAS is currently recruiting for the position of Human Resource Manager.
*Position Overview:*
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Human Resource (HR) Manager to join our team. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resource management, by using your experience and knowledge to enhance our current HR practices and processes. The HR Manager will be a vital component in the development and implementation of HR initiatives such as recruitment, retention, performance management and coordination of training opportunities for our employees.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Leadership & Strategy:* Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
* *Union Relations:* Collaborate effectively within a unionized environment, managing labour relations, collective agreement negotiations, and grievance processes.
* *Employee Development:* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and development to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
* *HR Policies & Compliance:* Ensure adherence to employment laws, workplace safety standards, collective agreement and organizational policies.
* *Performance Management:* Supporting management in performance evaluations and address workplace concerns effectively.
* *Diversity & Inclusion:* Promote a culture of equity, inclusion, and respect throughout the organization.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Certified Professional Human Resource (CPHR) designation or equivalent is an asset.
* Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, ideally in a unionized environment.
* Strong knowledge of Nova Scotia labour laws and collective agreements.
* Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
* Experience in the non-profit or human services sector is an asset.
