PA Industries is located in the Salmon Arm industrial park, and we are looking for a conventional machinist to join our team. We offer competitive wages and have extended benefits. We are a busy machine shop making parts for sawmill equipment and various other parts. We are looking for someone who can use vertical boring machines, a drill press, lathes, and milling machines. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Must be able to fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, be able to read blueprints/drawings, and have knowledge of the forestry industry would be an asset. Responsibilities: - Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments - Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining operations - Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment - Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy - Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve production processes - Troubleshoot issues with machines and make necessary adjustments Requirements: - Proficiency in operating machining equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders - Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD, and blueprint reading - Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges - Basic math skills for calculations and measurements - Experience with forklift operation is preferred - Ability to assemble and fabricate parts according to specifications Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and requirements.
