Applications are invited for the position of: Elementary Generalist at Wildwood School Position :Temporary, Full Time Elementary Generalist Location : Wildwood School - Wildwood, Alberta https://wildwoodschool.gypsd.ca/ Start Date :Duties to commence January 6, 2024, until June 27, 2025 Hours of Work :1.0 FTE Monday-Friday The competition will remain open until: December 6, 2024 at 12:00pm Noon MST Applications are invited for the position of a Temporary Elementary Generalist ,Wildwood School in Wildwood, Alberta which resides in the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. Role and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be a collaborative person with proficiency in the use of educational technology and have an understanding of assessment for learning. The responsibilities include: Providing instruction to promote high quality student-centered learning. Designing and preparing lessons based on curriculum and following a variety of methodology in teaching and instructing students, including lectures, demonstrations and discussions. Facilitating inclusive educational practices to maximize educational opportunities for all students. Reviewing and evaluating each student's performance, knowledge and skills and meeting all reporting and assessment deadlines. Adhering to provincial legislation, board policy and division administrative procedures. Developing constructive relationships with parents. Modelling commitment to professional development. Requirements The successful candidate will: Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one. Have experience in following the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum. Hold a Bachelors degree of Education. Benefits of GYPSD The Division is committed to strong professional development and each teacher and principal has the opportunity to apply for up to $2,500 per year to support professional learning. The Division also provides $725 per year for teachers to allocate within a Health and Wellness Spending Account. Available Leaves: Personal leave of absence, 4 days per school year May accumulate up to 11 total personal leave days, see the Local ATA Collective Agreement for further details. Sick leave, up to 90 days leave Family Medical Leave, up to 3 days per school year Bereavement/Critical Care Leave Deferred Salary Leave Plan Northern Student Teacher Bursary: GYPSD is a participating School Division within the Northern Student Teacher Bursary.
