*Job Description*
The production technician is a key contributor of the manufacturing process. With a thorough understanding of the process the production technician uses a digital control system to monitor process parameters and identifies process issues. In an effort to balance production quantity with product quality the purification technician makes process changes fully understanding the impact of such changes on production outcomes.
Further the production technician uses his/her understanding of chemical purification and clarification techniques, knowledge of electrical interfaces and mechanical aptitude, in addition to their understanding of the process to make suggestions and recommendations toward process improvements. Through the elimination of redundancies process efficiencies are established in an effort to reduce process costs and increase production capacity.
*Candidate profile*
· Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma (or equivalent)
· Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, stationary or chemical (either specific courses, process work experience, or education)
· A minimum of 2-5 years related experience in a chemical process environment or process based work environment
· Familiarity with digital control systems to the point of making changes and understanding impact of such changes
· Manufacturing experience focused on a production / quality / safety balance in a hands on capacity working with large scale automated processing equipment
· Understanding of basic chemical purification and clarification techniques, general understanding of electrical interfaces and a mechanical aptitude
· Ability to recognize process improvement opportunities
· Applied literacy ? reading, writing and mathematics at a post-secondary school level

This role's rate structure starts at $31.76, increases to $34.36 after 800 hours worked and again at one year to $38.08
