Our school follows the British Columbia curriculum with an emphasis on a consistent, structured approach to instruction. Clearly defined standards of academic achievement and character are integral to our school's approach to teaching and learning.The successful candidate should be committed to working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to design an environment and programming conducive to engaging children and their families. They should have a breadth of knowledge and experience in the areas of social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practice, differentiated instruction, and familiarity with the technology used to support students. <p>King Traditional is a learning community with a high percentage of ELL students and our focus is the development of early literacy. The successful applicant will be passionate about building connections with students and investing in the development of social responsibility skills of all students in their classroom or otherwise.<p>Education & Experience Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate from an accredited program<p> Training and experience administering and interpreting IPT Assessments<p> Teacher training at the elementary level with major/minor in Kinesiology<p> Practicum work in Physical Health Education at the elementary level<p> Familiarity with IELTS instruction <p> Familiarity of the BC ELL Standards <p> Experience teaching ELL learners at the elementary level <p> Experience using technology to facilitate language acquisition <p> Eligible for Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certificate <p> Experience teaching Physical Health Education at the elementary level<p> Eligible for B.C. Certification <p> Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reportsTeaching Competencies<p>All teachers are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of others in a tactful, compassionate and respectful manner. <p> Organizat- LocationAbbotsford, BC
