We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team at our Edmonton office. *Responsibilities:* * *Accurate Estimation:* Prepare precise and detailed cost estimates for construction projects. * *Project Analysis:* Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required. * *Collaboration:* Work closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather essential information for estimating purposes. * *Software Proficiency:* Utilize construction estimating software, including PlanSwift, to create comprehensive estimates. * *Site Assessment:* Conduct on-site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges or opportunities. * *Bid Evaluation:* Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals. * *Negotiation:* Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive rates. * *Client Interaction:* Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and stakeholders. * *Cost Monitoring:* Track and monitor project costs throughout the construction process. * *Budget and Schedule Support:* Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules. * *Communication:* Handle front desk duties, including answering phone calls and responding to emails. * *Administrative Support:* Perform other basic administrative tasks as needed to support office operations. *Qualifications:* * *Education:* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field (preferred). * *Experience:* Proven experience in construction estimating or a related role. * *Knowledge:* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes. * *Software Skills:* Proficiency in construction estimating software, such as PlanSwift. * *Analytical Skills:* Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. * *Blueprint Interpretation:* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. * *Communication:* Excellent communication and negotiation skills. * *Team Player:* Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * *Organizational Skills:* Strong organizational and time management skills. This is an office-based position.
