DFH Real Estate Ltd., based in Victoria, BC is a local leader in real estate and property management. We have over 60 years serving the Capital Region and Southern Vancouver Island housing market with offices in Victoria, Sidney, Westshore and Cowichan Bay. Our firm is seeking an amazing, organized, detail-oriented Licensed Property Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will use their experience to manage our current portfolio of residential rental properties but also to meet our growth objectives. We are seeking a positive, energetic, self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
· Must be licensed to practice in BC or will complete the licensing requirements within 90 days of hiring.
· Prefer minimum 1-2 years? experience in residential rental property management, customer service, property sales.
· · Successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ethics
· · Knowledge and full understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act of BC
· · Attention to detail, time management, ability to multitask
· · Valid drivers? license and access to a vehicle.
· · Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed to meet demand of clientele.
· · Work independently as well as part of a team
*Duties*
* Manage all aspects of residential properties, ensuring they are well-maintained and compliant with regulations.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
* Conduct regular property inspections to assess condition and identify maintenance needs.
* Coordinate with maintenance staff and vendors to ensure timely repairs and upkeep of properties.
* Maintain accurate records of tenant interactions, maintenance requests, and property management activities using Yardi or similar software.
* Handle lease agreements, renewals, and terminations while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
* Implement effective marketing strategies to attract new tenants and minimize vacancy rates.
* Prepare reports on property performance, occupancy rates, and tenant satisfaction for upper management.
* Utilize CMMS for tracking maintenance requests and scheduling preventive maintenance tasks.
* Uphold excellent phone etiquette while communicating with tenants, vendors, and team members.
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience in property management or a related field is preferred.
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with tenants.
* Excellent negotiation skills to effectively manage lease agreements and resolve conflicts.
* Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus.
* Proficient in office administration tasks including filing, record keeping, and report generation.
* Knowledge of residential leasing laws and regulations is desirable.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple properties simultaneously.
