*Job Summary:*
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Business Systems Analyst provides technical and intellectual support in the analysis, development, coordination and implementation of new software, database development and implementation, as well as analyzing data and preparing reports that support the regulatory mandate and strategic direction of the College.
*Scope of this position:*
* Gathers requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, design thinking, task and workflow analysis to understand and document the information and functional needs of CRNM departments
* Assists in managing projects associated with maintenance and changes to the registrant database
* Ensures required information is being collected in the database and that the output supports decision making
* Communicates complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Develops and maintains training information for employees to support appropriate and consistent use of the registrant database
* Works with stakeholders to understand and evaluate business processes for optimization and provides advice on solution or enhancement opportunities
* Serves as liaison between the College and the external service providers to interpret and clarify the business needs/issues for resolution
* Assists in developing and maintaining a data dictionary to ensure consistent data entry, data reporting and interpretation
*Education and experience:*
* A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, business administration or a related discipline *OR*
* Completion of a post-secondary program in computer science, business analysis or information systems
* Minimum 5 years of experience in business case and business analysis
* Proven experience with high level planning, problem solving and analysis
* Experience with test driven configuration of software is highly desirable
* Experience with Agile, Scrum and Kanban
* Able to extract relevant information from complex material for the purpose of both formulating and evaluating broad concepts and detailed strategies/directions/policies
* Effective, proactive and creative problem solver with a natural curiosity and desire to understand "why" things are the way they are
* Analytical skills along with being able to conceptualize, design and document new features and business requirements
* Strong self-management, coordination, organizational and implementation skills
