Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Metal product fabrication industry. Structural steel fabrication company. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Perform ongoing machine adjustments. Program CNC machine tools. Design patterns to fit measurements. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Forklift Operator Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: AutoCAD. Brakes. Drills. Lifting device. Micrometers. Power presses. Punch presses. Saws. Shears. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Hand tools. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending. Cutting machine. Drawing. Flattening. Forming. Punching. Straightening. Upsetting. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
