*Responsibilities:* As a Plumber, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Your duties will include, but are not limited to: * *Plumbing Installation & Repair:* Install, assemble, and repair pipes, fixtures, and fittings used for water distribution, waste disposal, gas, and air systems. Ensure all installations and repairs meet plumbing and gas codes, as well as TSSA requirements. * *Piping & Fittings Work:* Work with a variety of materials including metals (iron, steel, lead, copper) and non-metallic materials (plastic, glass, vitrified clay). Install and repair piping systems, valves, and fittings. * *Pipe Cutting & Bending:* Cut, thread, and bend pipes using pipe cutters, hacksaws, pipe threading machines, and pipe bending machines. * *Join Pipe Sections:* Use fittings, couplings, elbows, solder, lead, screws, bolts, and clamps to join pipe sections. Secure pipes with brackets and hangers as needed. * *Fixture Installation:* Install plumbing fixtures including water closets, wash basins, baths, kitchen equipment, and industrial processing equipment. * *System Assembly:* Connect water supply piping, control valves, fixtures, and drainage systems to form complete plumbing systems. * *Maintenance & Repair:* Maintain and repair installed plumbing systems by troubleshooting defects, replacing broken pipes or fixtures, soldering and sealing leaks, clearing blockages, and thawing frozen pipes. * *Blueprint Interpretation & Layout:* Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine layout for plumbing systems. Mark and cut holes for pipes and fixtures in walls and floors using power tools and hand tools. * *Documentation:* Complete timesheets, planning sheets, material orders, estimates, and other necessary documentation as required. * *Collaboration:* Work closely with construction teams to ensure plumbing systems are properly installed during new construction projects. * *System Inspection & Troubleshooting:* Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues or potential problems. Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, making necessary repairs. * *Routine Maintenance:* Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as cleaning drains and pipes, to ensure systems are operating efficiently. * *Adhere to Safety Standards:* Follow all safety protocols and building codes to ensure a safe working environment. *Skills & Qualifications:* * *Technical Expertise:* Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment. * *Blueprint Reading:* Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. * *Problem Solving:* Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve plumbing issues. * *Welding & Soldering:* Experience with welding and soldering techniques for pipe joining. * *Attention to Detail:* Ability to ensure accurate installation and repairs, adhering to high standards. * *Communication Skills:* Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients. *Education & Experience:* * *Preferred Education:* AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate. * *Preferred Experience:* Minimum of 2 years of plumbing experience. * *Certification:* Red Seal certification (preferred, but not required).
