*About the Position:*
We are looking for a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy team in Waterloo. We are looking for a candidate who is *reliable* and *organized*, with *excellent communication skills* and capable of providing *exceptional customer service*. Preference will be given candidates who are *proficient with Kroll Pharmacy Management* Software and experienced in *troubleshooting* adjudication issues with public and private payers.

_*PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*_
* _*MUST be registered with the OCP as a pharmacy technician*_
* Assist Pharmacy Manager in the day-to-day management of workload;
* Collaborate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants to fulfill prescription orders
* Work independently on labeling and filling/refilling prescriptions.
* Perform an independent double check for repeat prescription release.
* Verify that the customer receives correct prescription(s).
* Identify potential therapeutic issues and seek the Pharmacist?s therapeutic check
* Work collaboratively with Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy Patient Programs in fulfilling pharmacy responsibilities.
* Prepare/review and process billings, claims, disbursements and related documents.
* Assist patients who are picking up prescriptions.
* Enter prescriptions into the computer; retrieve and/or correct data in computer.
* Screen calls and gather relevant information for Pharmacist.
* Order, maintain, and prepare inventory of medications.
* Review invoices or other documentation.
* Pack and ship prescription orders.
* Receive and maintain accurate inventory.
* Communicate with patients, prescribers, healthcare professionals, and other key player to support patients through their treatment journey.
* Verify and investigate insurance coverage and benefits for patients, including eligibility, co-payments, deductibles, and prior authorizations.
* Gather and document information from patients/caregivers/prescribers in a concise, organized, and professional manner.
* Complete, submit, and follow-up on requisite paperwork in a timely manner.
* Liaise with private and public insurance providers to determine coverage options.
* Act as a central liaison for stakeholders such as physicians, nurses, patients, and clinics and provide required updates.
* The Registered Pharmacy Technician will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.
*EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:*
* Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
* Two or more years of related pharmacy experience;
* Proficiency in Kroll;
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel);
* Organized with the ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy;
* Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations;
* Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
* Excellent time management skills;
* Bilingualism, French/English is an asset
