We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic IT team as a Temporary, Full-Time Network Administrator with the City of Kamloops! This position is pivotal in overseeing and maintaining the City?s network across many different locations including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software, designing network architecture/infrastructure, planning for the future and much more! This position is exposed to every area of the City including all departments and locations and will be required to interact with a multitude of internal and external parties. Our preference is to hire a fully qualified candidate. However, if there are no candidates deemed fully qualified, candidates for the Training Opportunity will be considered.The successful candidate must have the following qualifications: Completion of a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree or an equivalent degree; OR Completion of a diploma in Computer Science or Computer Systems and a minimum eight years? experience working in Information Technology and two years? experience working in a full time Networking role or equivalent (for a total of ten years? experience). Current/Valid Cisco CCNA certificate. Valid Class 5 BC driver?s licence or equivalent. Minimum two years? previous experience working full-time with Checkpoint Firewalls. Minimum two years? previous experience working full-time with Cisco networking equipment.For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes apolice information check.
