MERRITT CENTRAL & DIAMOND VALE ELEMENTARY & MERRITT SECONDARY SCHOOLS <p>1.0 FTE Continuing full-time Nle?kepmxcin (Thompson) Language Instructor, beginning September 1, 2024. <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: <p><p> Be a fluent speaker of the Nle?kepmxcin Language.<p> Possess a First Nations Language teacher certificate for Nle?kepmxcin, or be eligible for this certificate.<p> Knowledge and understanding of Nle?kepmx and/or Syilx culture.<p> Training and experience working with grade-level students. <p> Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments, and learning outcomes for student needs. <p> Valid BC Teaching certificate or eligible for Letter of Permission.<p><p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: <p><p> A commitment to supporting a variety of learning needs. <p> Experience/training in supporting the social-emotional learning needs of students. <p> A commitment to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents.<p> A commitment to working as a member of a school team in support of students. <p><p>Moving Allowance Support: $1500.00 for teachers within BC and $2000.00 within Canada. <p>School District 58 is working to ensure an inclusive, diverse and representative workforce.
