We are looking for our new H&S Manager! Reporting to the VP of Operations, they ensure that the Corporate Safety Program complies with all legislative and regulatory laws for any and all jurisdictions in which Carmacks operates. The H&S Manager also promotes positive safety attitudes and safe work practices throughout the organization, and will be responsible for the supervision of all safety positions within the Carmacks organization. We are currently looking for a self-motivated individual to become an integral part of our team. If you want to work in a dynamic team environment and you excel when being trusted with responsibility, then Carmacks is the place for you. *What is the role?* * Monitor and manage the Carmacks Safety Management System ensuring that the Program complies with all legislative and regulatory laws * Implement the annual H&S strategy in collaboration with the QHSE Director of Western Canada and the HSSC * Responsible for the training and supervision of safety personnel to ensure that they have the ability to carry out all Safety Program requirements * Along with the safety committee, make recommendations and regulatory requirements, develops and recommends changes to health and safety policies and programs to management * Monitor and evaluate work practices and procedures * Maintain detailed inspection or investigation records, prepare reports and attend to related administrative requirements * Participate in and coordinate accident/incident investigations * Review or conduct site-specific inspections and audits * Conduct and oversee the scheduling, organization, and implementation of safety training, including annual safety days and other safety events *What do we value?* * National Safety Construction Officer Designation (NSCO) * Minimum 5 years senior safety related experience in the construction industry * 1-2 years leadership experience * Previous experience in occupational health and safety function and a demonstrated knowledge of health safety and fire legislation, OH&S, job accommodation, WCB and ergonomics * Knowledge and understanding of OH&S Act and regulations, WCB, Privacy Legislation & Duty to Accommodate *What's in it for you?* * Competitive Wages, including profit share & bonus * Company vehicle * Office closed for Christmas break * Extended Health Care, Vision and Dental Care * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) * RRSP Matching * Growth Opportunities * Employee Stock Purchase Plan _Carmacks is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
