We are seeking candidates with lived and learnt experiences for this role.<p> <p> <p> <p>Candidates will have system-level expertise (or equivalent) in developing and facilitating effective professional learning related to equity, diversity, inclusion, intermediate history or black studies.<p> <p>Successful applicants will be compensated at the Remedial Rate ($50.67/hour x 10 hours plus benefits)<p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<p> <p><p> An Ontario Teacher?s Certificate of Qualification<p> A University Degree<p> Qualifications to teach in two divisions (junior/ intermediate preferred)<p> Some district or system-level experience in an equity-related role (preferred)<p> Three years of Secondary teaching experience (preferred)<p> Teaching LGBTQ Students AQ or learnt/ lived experience in this area (recommended)<p><p> <p>KEY COMPETENCIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT<p> <p>Successful applicants for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Queer Studies secondary writing team will have:<p> <p><p> create courses (university/ college preparation) that foster a comprehensive and critical understanding of the political and cultural landscape of education for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, two-spirit, queer/questioning (LGBT2Q) youth.<p> Support staff learning throughout the course to recognize and address homophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, cissexism, and hetero/cisnormativity in school and society.<p> will introduce queer, trans, and anti-oppressive theories that will be drawn upon to spotlight 2SLGBTQ-based inequities and direct attention to what educators can do to support LGBT2Q+ youth and cultivate safer, more inclusive, and just school environments for gender, sexual, and romantic minorities (GSRM).<p> in-depth knowledge of Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy (CRRP) and anti- oppressive pedagogy<p> some familiarity with teaching in the Humanities, Equity and Social Justice or equivalent curriculum subject areas;<p> a repertoire of effective evidence-informed instructional strategies to engage at-risk 2SLGBTQ+ students in learning;<p> in-depth knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting;<p><p><p><p> experience using a variety of digital tools to support online instruction, assessment and student engagement;<p> an ability to align professional learning with system priorities;<p> experience in the design and facilitation of effective professional learning;<p> experience working in collaboration with colleagues;<p> excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; and awareness of<p> Social Sciences and Humanities (2013) (Secondary) in Equity Studies;<p> Growing Success - Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting in Ontario Schools (1-12);<p> Ontario Schools - Policy and Program Requirements (K-12);<p> School Effectiveness Framework - A support for school improvement and student success (K- 12);<p> Learning for All - A Guide to Effective Assessment and Instruction for All Students (K-12); and<p> Creating Pathways to Success, An Education and Career
