*Job Purpose:*
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing customer inquiries, processing orders, handling phone sales, and providing exceptional service in a fast-paced wholesale produce environment. This role involves order entry, assisting with customer concerns, and providing support to both the sales team and the broader operations of the warehouse. Additionally, the role may involve some reception control duties as needed.
*Knowledge & Skills:*
* High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business or a related field is an asset.
* Previous experience in customer service, sales, or wholesale distribution is preferred.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate or above level).
* Experience in phone sales and order entry is preferred.
* Knowledge of wholesale produce, bulk items, and order fulfillment processes is an asset.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
* Ability to remain calm and professional while handling customer complaints or inquiries.
*Duties & Responsibilities:*
* Actively engage in phone sales by reaching out to existing and new customers, providing information, taking orders, and promoting products.
* Accurately enter customer orders into the system, verifying product details, quantities, pricing, and delivery schedules.
* Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person at the Ontario Food Terminal or the warehouse. Provide accurate product information and resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, and returns.
* Use Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to maintain customer records, track orders, update inventory levels, and generate reports as needed.
* As needed, manage reception duties, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff.
* Maintain and update customer accounts, track order history, and provide follow-up to ensure ongoing satisfaction.
* Handle invoicing, billing inquiries, and ensure proper documentation for order transactions.
* Work closely with the warehouse team and sales staff to ensure accurate order fulfillment and excellent customer service.
*Health and safety Responsibilities:*
* Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the work environment.
* Maintain cleanliness in the workspace, ensuring safety and food safety standards are adhered to.
* Apply food safety practices when interacting with products and customers.
* Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and other safety gear when required.
* Report any health, safety, or equipment concerns to management immediately.
* Ensure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and company safety guidelines.
